Finding the right words to convey how immensely satisfying this purchase has been is quite a task. From the initial discovery through the ordering process and the prompt confirmation of shipping details, everything was executed with professionalism. Awesome and hassle-free service. The drive arrived today and appears to be working great out of the box (currently sitting with a normal BD in it right now, going to head out and grab some UHD’s very shortly).
This saves me the headache of trying to navigate the Optical drive space and dance around firmware flashing.

I am starting to consider ripping a medium size collection of blu-rays and UHDs to a NAS (yet to be built), so basically know nothing about everything, especially what’s necessary to know.
It turns out that not all blu-ray drives can read UHD, and even so there are various choices such as internal or not, USB type and so on.
UHDenabledDrives responded quickly to my questions with sensible and cost effective recommendations. Since I don’t know what I am doing (and even whether I will keep doing it), being able to buy a drive that’s known to work with UHD discs without further mucking around (eg adapating brackets to fit in the case, flashing the drive etc) around was very helpful.
After the drive arrived (a Pioneer external, BDR-XD07TB), I was able to rip (with Makemkv) the blu-ray edition of “The Green book” and the 4k of “2001 …” as easily, if not as quickly, as ripping a CD (on a Dell 9030 AIO/i5-4950S).
I am pleased with this firms service and unreservedly recommend them for this application.

Very satisfied with the speed and the service I received when I purchased the Pioneer drive and optional 1m cable (a cable is included with the drive but the optional cable is far better quality).
